What is a classified installation for environmental protection (ICPE)?
A classified installation for environmental protection (*installation classée pour la protection de l’environnement*) is an installation whose operation presents risks or drawbacks for the environment or for health, and which is subject to a regime of declaration, registration or authorisation according to its degree of hazard.
What obligations apply to a company in relation to contaminated land?
The operator, and in some cases the owner, may be required to remediate a site by reference to its future use, under the supervision of the administration, and must anticipate those obligations before any disposal or change of activity.
What is CSR and what legal obligations flow from it?
Corporate social responsibility refers to the voluntary integration of social and environmental considerations into a business’s activity, which increasingly overlaps with statutory obligations in respect of non-financial reporting and duty of vigilance.
What remedies are available in litigation concerning a renewable energy project?
Decisions granting or refusing authorisation for a renewable energy project may be challenged before the administrative courts, within time limits and under procedures that should be anticipated from the design stage of the project.
